Got some time this afternoon to do a shoot whilst Ken is away. Decided to go to the Long Jetty area and try some panoramas. It was interesting because i hadn't shot my digital camera in nearly a month i was using rules that apply for film, like only having 4 stop differences in light. Then i was like hang on a sec, this is digital! Got to the end of the shoot and remembered i had GND filters that i didnt use, pretty much kicked myself when i remembered them! Would much prefer to have shot this using a Linhoff, but hey...cant have everything right!
Used a Canon 7D with a 50mm. Total of 18 images to make this mega-pan. Computer wanted to die when stitching them together!
This was a beautiful calm evening, very quiet. Went for a walk to the end of the jetty when i had finished shooting and just sat and watched all the colour slowly disappear.
Decided to call this shot "The Road to Heaven". The clouds had parted and the jetty provides a solid ground for the final steps to heaven.
"The Road to Heaven"
This is 18 individual photos stitched together to make this mega-panorama. Facebook does not do this photo justice, it is truely a massive shot. 26000 pixels and 275cm if you need something to cover your wall this is it!
"The road to heaven isn't necessarily the narrow and winding one, we are the ones who make it winding by constantly going off track."
